What is CBD and Will it Help Me?

Like most of us, you have probably heard a lot of craze about CBD in recent years & for great reason!

CBD is popular with people from all walks of life, including celebrity actress Kristen Bell who says she uses it for her anxiety & depression.

Two questions we get asked about a lot are What is CBD & Can CBD Help Me?

Chances are if you have found this page you may be asking yourself the same thing.

In this article, we are going to cover things like…

What Is CBD?

Cannabidiol, most commonly know as CBD is a chemical compound that is found in Cannabis Sativa Hemp plants.

Although there are over 100 known cannabinoids found in these plants, CBD is widely regarded as the most important discovery of all.

This is due fact that CBD delivers a lot of the same benefits of Cannabis, but, without the “high” that people feel when they consume Cannabis.

The discovery of CBD has unleashed a new lease of life for a lot of people who use CBD on a daily basis that want to feel “Healthy & Not High”.

Although many of our customers love using our CBD daily, at Unwind, our hope for you is that someday, you won’t need CBD gummies or anything else to feel your best.

But, until then, we believe the best solutions are always natural.

How Is CBD Made?

Firstly, it’s important to point out that not all CBD is created equally as there are many different ways in which CBD can be made.

The CBD market in Ireland is a relatively new one and there are a lot of grey areas for regulation.

That’s why at Unwind CBD, we believe in the ultimate self-regulation of our products & business.

In addition to following the guidelines of the HSE we also make sure that our CBD products undergo 3 independent lab tests, one for each stage of production.

Our extra due diligence in self-regulation means that you can shop with ease knowing that you are getting nothing but mother natures natural goodness, with full traceability from the seed in the farm, right to the finished CBD product on your shelf.

Your CBD product started life as a small seed in the ground in the vast Hemp fields of Colorado.

Planted with care by local farmers that we have developed trusting relations with.

Our farmers use specific E.U approved seeds so, they can grow plants that yield high CBD & low THC.

By the end of the season, your small seed has now shot up and transformed into a fresh flowering Hemp plant.

From there, our Hemp plants are then harvested & the CBD is extracted from the raw Hemp plants. At this point the THC which is the psychoactive compound also found in the Hemp plant is removed.

As mentioned earlier, our customers are looking to get “Healthy, Not High” & this is why we remove the THC.

Once all CBD oil is extracted from the plants that are harvested it is then shipped to our CBD laboratory here in Ireland where our team conduct more testing & create the final CBD products that you see available on our online store.

All of our CBD technicians wear full PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) covered from head to toe whilst creating your favourite CBD products in our ISO-certified clean rooms.

This helps us ensure that all CBD products are created in a sterile environment as our customers health & well being is our top priority!

Is CBD Safe?

Every day, many of the potential customers that speak to our support team ask this question but unfortunately, there is no simple answer.

The reason there is no simple “yes” or “no” answer to this question is because taking CBD can affect everyone differently & it’s very much an individual experience for CBD users.

What I mean by that is, two people may take the same amount of CBD each day but experience different results.

This might sound counter-intuitive but there are a lot of personal variables at play here that differ from person to person.

Some of these variables might include a persons age, weight, metabolism rate, tolerance levels etc. This list of variable could be longer but I think you get where this is going.

As CBD is not currently authorised as a medicinal product by the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) in Ireland we are not allowed to make any specific claims about its effectiveness or safety.

All we are allowed to say is that our products are lab tested & up to HSE standards.

If you are on medication we highly suggest you consult with your GP before trying our products.

Ultimately though deciding whether or not to take CBD is going to be up to you & all we can recommend is that you do your own research to come up with your own conclusion before you try it.

Can CBD Help Me?
